Welcome to the project showcase featuring a remarkable fireplace design and construction by AWAkitchens! This project is located in Northcote, a northern suburb of Melbourne.
Our client had a vision of creating a bespoke fireplace that would utilize real wood burning instead of gas or alcohol options. This presented us with significant challenges in terms of fire safety. After extensive research and consultation with fireplace manufacturing standards, AWAkitchens designed and crafted a custom fireplace cabinet to meet our client's requirements.
To ensure both fire safety and aesthetics, we custom-made an insulating frame using oxidized aluminum. This frame not only prevents heat transfer but also adds a visually appealing element to the fireplace design. The fireplace itself is set within this frame, which eliminates the risk of discoloration that may occur with other materials under high temperatures. The chimney channel is cleverly concealed within the plasterboard, providing a seamless and integrated look.
On the right side of the fireplace, we incorporated an electric concealed sliding door to hide storage compartments. The dimensions of the door panels were meticulously calculated using the golden ratio for a visually pleasing composition. For the countertop, we selected the elegant and fire-safe Natural Stone Bianco Gioia, which perfectly complements the overall design.
This minimalist black and white fireplace cabinet not only brings warmth and vitality to the home but also adds value to the property. The attention to detail and adherence to fire safety standards ensure a safe and enjoyable wood-burning fireplace experience.

STEP ONE:
Schedule an appointment with our design team. During the initial consultation, we'll discuss your kitchen wish list and project specifications, and work with you, your architect, or designer to ensure that every element of your kitchen meets your functional, budget, and aesthetic requirements.
STEP TWO:
Based on your brief, our design team will present a FREE layout and cost estimate, and work with you over the course of several meetings to refine the design to meet your needs. Our showroom kitchens allow you to experience and interact with finishes and fittings, so you can see how your kitchen will take shape.
STEP THREE:
Once you've approved the design, materials, and costs, our design team will produce final plans and elevations of your kitchen. We'll then issue a full package of technical information when you place your order. Your kitchen will be manufactured to your specifications, tested, and fully assembled at AWA, ready for delivery to your home.
STEP FOUR:
Our in-house installation team will project-manage the construction of your cabinets, working with your builder and architect to meet your timelines. From initial preparations and on-site inspections through to final installation, we'll take care of every detail to ensure an accurate and efficient match to your specifications.

Once the design, materials and costs have been approved by you, the design team produces plans and elevations of the kitchen. A full package of technical information is then issued when the order is placed. Your kitchen is then manufactured to your specifications, tested and fully assembled in AWA, for delivery to your home.

An in-house installation team will project-manage the construction of your AWA kitchen, working with your builder and architect to meet your time lines.
